Tulika Ghosh

Bringing to you another gem of a Singer, from RSMM's entourage, Tulika Ghosh from Mumbai. She is an advanced trained Indian Sub-Continental/Hindustani Classical Music Singer.

From an early age, she was exposed to Indian Sub-Continental/Hindustani Classical Music, as her father, Pt. Nikhil Ghosh, was a reputed Tabla Maestro. Furthermore, her brothers, Pt. Nayan Ghosh and Pt. Dhruba Ghosh, play the Sitar and Sarangi respectively. Therefore, her interest in this art grew further.

Tulika was bound to find affinity with Indian Sub-Continental/Hindustani Classical Music because of her family, as mentioned previously. This allowed her to easily and aptly sing all kinds of Indian Sub-Continental/Hindustani Classical Vocal genres, such as Khayal, Tappa, Bhajan, Thumri etc.

Her focal point and prowess lies in the form of her husky and velvety voice, which is further complimented by her phenomenal understanding of the singing styles and techniques associated with such. In addition, she has a stupendous knack for correct diction, enunciation and pronunciation.

Tulika's learnt Indian Sub-Continental/Hindustani Classical Music from many stalwarts, a few have already been mentioned in the homepage short descripton of her's. In addition, she was taught by Ust. Yunus Hussain Khan and Pt. Jnan Prakash Ghosh.

She has performed in the UK, France, Germany, Japan and USA, to her fame. Furthermore, she has headed the department for MA(Hons) in Vocal Music in Mumbai from 1976-2004. Nowadays, Tulika is passing on her art to the next generation of aspirants, by holding sessions all over the globe.
